The Desert/Mountain Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) is a consortium of twenty-six Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. The SELPA covers the 20,627 square mile region within the area that extends from the mountains to the border of Arizona within the San Bernardino County. The purpose of the SELPA is to ensure that quality special education programs and services are available throughout the region to meet the individual needs of special education students.
